PRJUSD Welcomes New Leaders for the 2026–27 School Year

Paso Robles Joint Unified School District is pleased to welcome five administrators to new leadership roles for the 2026–27 school year.
The appointments include Jennifer Thomas as Coordinator II of Special Education; Dr. Amie Macbeth as Deputy Principal and Paul Otto as Athletic Director at Paso Robles High School; Stormy Capalare as Student Engagement Specialist at Glen Speck Elementary School; and Anna Williams as Student Engagement Specialist at Kermit King Elementary School.
Jennifer Thomas
Coordinator II of Special Education
Jennifer Thomas brings extensive experience in student advocacy, educational psychology, and inclusive education to her new districtwide leadership role.
Thomas has worked in public education since 2011 and has served PRJUSD since 2017, first as a school psychologist and later as Lead School Psychologist. In those roles, she supported students with a wide range of needs, mentored staff and helped strengthen the District’s student-support systems.
As Coordinator II of Special Education, Thomas will oversee districtwide initiatives, support the quality and compliance of special education services, and advocate for equitable opportunities for students with disabilities.
“My journey as a school psychologist has shown me that the best outcomes for our students are achieved through genuine partnership,” Thomas said. “I look forward to continuing my work with our families, educators, and the broader San Luis Obispo County community to ensure every student has the tools and support they need to thrive.”
Thomas began her new position July 1.
Dr. Amie Macbeth
Deputy Principal, Paso Robles High School
Dr. Amie Macbeth joins Paso Robles High School with more than 20 years of experience advancing equitable, student-centered learning across preschool through 12th-grade educational systems.
Her career has focused on instructional leadership, curriculum development, academic achievement and students’ social-emotional growth.
The Deputy Principal position expands upon the responsibilities previously assigned to an assistant principal. The role strengthens instructional leadership at PRHS and establishes a clear administrative chain of command when the principal is off campus.
“My goal is to listen, learn, and collaborate to ensure we create academic systems that effectively serve our students, families, and all stakeholders,” Macbeth said.
Macbeth will begin her assignment July 13.
Paul Otto
Athletic Director, Paso Robles High School
Paul Otto brings 20 years of experience in athletics to Paso Robles High School, including service as both a head coach and athletic director.
His leadership philosophy emphasizes character, safety, inclusion and the development of students’ academic and athletic strengths. He is committed to building traditions that create school pride while demonstrating respect for students, staff, officials and visiting schools.
“Athletics should be a point of pride for our entire community,” Otto said. “I look forward to collaborating with our staff and families to build a competitive, professional, and positive culture for our student-athletes.”
PRHS Principal Mike Susank said Otto’s leadership will elevate the school’s athletic programs and reinforce the important role athletics play in building character and community.
Otto began his new role July 1.
Stormy Capalare
Student Engagement Specialist, Glen Speck Elementary School
Stormy Capalare has served PRJUSD since 2018 and brings significant experience in social-emotional learning, Positive Discipline, family engagement and community building to Glen Speck Elementary School.
Capalare previously served as Lead Teacher for the Paso Robles Independent Study Center homeschool program, working closely with students, families and staff to support both academic achievement and meaningful connections to the school community. She has also provided professional development for educators and practical resources for families focused on strengthening relationships and supporting positive student behavior.
“Stormy understands that students learn best when they feel connected, supported, and valued,” Glen Speck Principal Stephenie Walker said. “We look forward to the positive impact she will have on our school community.”
PRJUSD’s elementary Student Engagement Specialists perform many of the responsibilities traditionally associated with an assistant principal, with a primary focus on school safety, student behavior, engagement and belonging.
Capalare will begin her new role July 27.
Anna Williams
Student Engagement Specialist, Kermit King Elementary School
Anna Williams joins Kermit King Elementary School with more than 20 years of experience in education and school leadership.
Williams previously served as an assistant principal at a large and diverse elementary school. Throughout her career, she has emphasized inclusive, relationship-centered practices and the connection between student belonging, engagement and academic success.
At Kermit King, Williams will help lead efforts to improve attendance, increase student participation and strengthen partnerships between the school and its families.
“Her decades of leadership experience, combined with her unwavering passion for building meaningful, inclusive connections, make her the perfect fit for this vital role,” Kermit King Principal Lisa Shipman said.
Williams will begin her new role July 27.
PRJUSD looks forward to the experience, perspective and leadership each administrator will bring to students, families and staff throughout the District.
