  • Targeted and focused support toward English language acquisition is a key component of improving outcomes for our English Learner students. Students who are fluent in English are more likely to be successful in school and find opportunities for work after high school or college. The California Department of Education recognizes this to be an important component for school districts to support by implementing designated and integrated English Language development upon enrollment in public schools. The actions listed under this goal will be implemented in an integrative manner to help achieve this goal for every child.

  • To address the district level reds on the CA School Dashboard, 6.5 full-time ELD teachers proportionally allocated to elementary sites based upon EL enrollment numbers , Middle school and high school ELD classes within master schedule dependent upon enrollment numbers, newcomer classes and support based upon enrollment numbers of newcomer students.

  • Sub release time for designated ELD, integrated ELD and the unique needs of Long-term English Language Learners in the classroom and school environment.

    Total Funds: $30,000.00 

  • ELD Coordinator and support - EL Coordinator (105,000) and ELD secretary (26,000) mileage 500 cellphone 500.

    Total Funds: $190,087.86

  • Supplemental Materials for Newcomer and ELD including parent resources and bilingual books

    Total Funds: $10,000.00

  • Eight Bilingual Paraeducators at PRHS (2), Lewis Flamson Junior High (2) Kermit King (1), Pat Butler (1), Virginia Peterson (1) and Glen Speck (1). Interpreter devices to support instruction and parent engagement.

    To address the red indicator for ELPI at Pat Butler Elementary School and Virginia Peterson Elementary School, part time classified staff to provide targeted ELD and newcomer instructional support during the school day.

  • Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) and additional parent education opportunities.

    Total Funds: $40,000.00

  • ELPAC Testing: Certificated and Classified staff time

  • English Language Development Supplemental Materials for English Learners and Long Term English Learners students.

    To address the needs of LTEL and English Learner EL students, we will purchase supplemental ELD curriculum and materials. This curriculum is designed to enhance our existing ELD program, providing targeted support that addresses the specific challenges faced by LTELs and EL students. By incorporating this supplemental curriculum, we aim to improve language proficiency by providing additional resources and structured activities to accelerate language acquisition and proficiency. The curriculum includes built-in assessments to monitor student progress, allowing educators to adjust instruction and interventions to better support student growth.

    The curriculum will offer personalized learning, with differentiated instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of LTELs and EL students, ensuring that each student receives the appropriate level of support and challenge. By integrating this supplemental ELD curriculum, we are committed to providing a comprehensive and effective approach to language development, ensuring all our LTELs and EL students have the opportunity to succeed academically and achieve their full potential.

  • Certificated Stipends for parent engagement and student connection -bilingual teachers.
