Welcome to the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District Transportation Department.

We are proud to provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation services that ensure students have equitable access to educational opportunities each day. Our department serves students with disabilities, students experiencing housing instability through the McKinney-Vento Program, and Paso Robles High School students residing in the San Miguel area.

The Transportation Department is led by JP Camsuzou, Transportation Manager, and supported by a dedicated team of transportation professionals who are committed to student safety, customer service, and operational excellence. Whether transporting students to and from school, educational field trips, athletic events, or specialized programs, our staff understand the important responsibility entrusted to them by families and the community.

Safety is the foundation of everything we do. Transportation staff receive ongoing training in defensive driving, emergency procedures, student behavior management, vehicle inspections, wheelchair securement, and state-mandated transportation requirements. Our team works diligently to ensure every student arrives safely, comfortably, and ready to learn.

Behind every successful transportation program is a group of dedicated professionals who often work before sunrise and long after the school day ends. From drivers and transportation assistants to mechanics and trainers, each employee plays a critical role in supporting student success and maintaining public trust.

Transportation Department Staff & Functions

Transportation Manager (1)

The Transportation Manager provides leadership and oversight for all transportation operations throughout the District. This position is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant transportation services while managing personnel, budgets, routing, training, and fleet operations.

School Bus Drivers (10)

School Bus Drivers are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and school-related activities. They are highly trained professionals who provide student supervision, vehicle inspections, and safe operation of school buses while serving as ambassadors of the District.

Para Van Drivers (8)

Para Van Drivers provide specialized transportation services for students requiring individualized support. These drivers operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles and receive specialized training to safely transport students with diverse needs.

Transportation Van Assistants (5)

Transportation Van Assistants support students during transport by providing supervision, assistance, and accommodations identified through transportation plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Their work helps ensure students travel safely and comfortably.

Transportation Mechanics (2)

Transportation Mechanics maintain and repair the District's fleet of buses, vans, and support vehicles. Through preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs, they help ensure every vehicle meets the highest safety standards and remains dependable for daily operations.

Transportation Instructor (1)

The Transportation Instructor is responsible for driver training, certification, safety education, and professional development. This position helps maintain compliance with state regulations while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

The Transportation Department consists of 27 dedicated employees who work together to provide safe, dependable, and efficient transportation services for PRJUSD students and families.
