Paso Proud, Issue 5 Is Here!

Paso Robles Joint Unified School District has released the fifth issue of Paso Proud, the district’s community magazine highlighting student achievements, school programs, and community partnerships across Paso Robles schools.
The newest edition features stories that reflect the strong connection between Paso Schools and the community that supports them. Among the highlights is a remarkable act of student generosity at Kermit King Elementary, where students, families, and staff collected more than 2,300 canned and non-perishable food items for Paso Robles Loaves & Fishes during a campus-wide food drive.
The issue also celebrates literacy through a districtwide observance of World Read Aloud Day at Winifred Pifer Elementary. Coordinated by the school librarian, Ms. Christy Jaureguy, every classroom participated in a live virtual author visit that included read-alouds and student Q&A sessions, giving Winifred Pifer Panthers a unique opportunity to connect with published writers.
Athletics and character are recognized through the longstanding Lions Club Sportsmanship Awards, a tradition dating back to 1946 that honors Bearcat student-athletes for leadership, perseverance, and integrity both on and off the field.
This edition also includes a photo feature celebrating the opening of the new Paso Robles Aquatics Center, made possible through the support of local voters who approved Measure M. The facility provides expanded opportunities for aquatics programs and student athletics.
In the arts, readers will learn about the Libretto Conservatory Program, a unique partnership between Paso Robles High School and the internationally recognized downtown jazz venue Libretto. Through the program, local students receive conservatory-level jazz instruction, mentorship from nationally recognized artists, and performance opportunities on a professional stage—all free of charge.
The magazine also spotlights several Career Technical Education Students of the Week and Secondary Scholars of the Week, recognizing students who exemplify leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to their school communities.
Paso Proud is produced by the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District to share the stories, achievements, and partnerships that shape education in the community. The fifth issue is available online in English and in Spanish.
