This week in Paso Schools
Dear Paso Schools Families,

As we continue further into this exciting stretch of the school year, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate our incredible teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4 - 8). Their dedication, care, and daily commitment to supporting students make a lasting difference, and we are deeply grateful for the role they play in your student's growth. We also encourage families to join us in showing appreciation—reach out to your school's PTA/PTO to see how you can pitch in at your school. If that's not possible for you, remember that often the most meaningful gesture is a simple, handwritten note sharing how a teacher has made an impact.

This week also marks the start of Open House season, beginning with Lewis Flamson Junior High and Marie Bauer Early Education Center. If you’re able to attend, these evenings offer a valuable opportunity to connect in person with your child’s teachers, strengthen relationships, and continue building the sense of community that supports student success both at school and at home.

Did you know Paso Robles Joint Unified School District is offering free summer childcare programs for Paso Schools students in Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade? These programs provide full-day care and enrichment opportunities throughout the summer, keeping students engaged, active, and connected outside the school year. Visit our website to learn more about summer childcare options, as well as summer school opportunities available to junior high and high school students.

The next Coffee With the Superintendent is coming Friday, May 8 at 9:00 a.m. in the District Office Board room. We hope you'll join us for coffee, doughnuts, and conversation with Superintendent Loftus.

CTE Student of the Week: Elliott Godsey

Elliott is a passionate, talented and diligent actor. She has stepped up as a Co-President of the Drama Club, started an Improvisation Troupe, performed in both Shakespeare In Love and High School Musical and is an incredible representative of Paso High Theatre Company. She was selected for the high standards she holds herself to. She strives to be the best version of herself while being kind and supportive to everyone around her. We can't wait to see what else she can do! Congratulations, Elliott!

Secondary Scholar of the Week: Maci Scoggins

Maci is not only a high achiever academically, but she approaches everything she does with passion, determination, and hard work. She consistently demonstrates an exceptional work ethic while also being kind, thoughtful, and considerate toward others. Maci intentionally chooses classes that challenge her and takes pride in putting in the effort needed to master difficult content.

Beyond the classroom, Maci is deeply committed to Creston 4-H Club, where she actively participates in community service, fundraisers, and contributions to the local fair. Her dedication has led to recognition at multiple competitions, including earning gold-level honors, reflecting her strong work ethic and passion. Maci’s commitment, character, and drive make her truly deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Maci!
