Candidate Filing Period Opens for PRJUSD Governing Board Elections

Community members interested in serving on the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District (PRJUSD) Board of Trustees are encouraged to learn more about the candidate filing process through the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder's Elections Office.
The filing period for candidates seeking election to the PRJUSD Board of Trustees opens July 13 and closes August 7, 2026.
Three seats on the Governing Board will appear on the November 3, 2026, General Election ballot, representing Trustee Areas 1, 2, and 4.
To be eligible to serve as a School Board Trustee, candidates must:
- Be a US citizen and at least 18 years of age
- Not be legally disqualified from holding civil office
- Be a registered voter residing within the boundaries of PRJUSD
- Reside within Trustee Area 1, 2, or 4, depending on the seat being sought, for a 4-year term
Residents can determine their Trustee Area by viewing Trustee Area Maps on the PRJUSD website. Additional information regarding candidate qualifications, filing requirements, and election procedures is available through the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder's Elections Office.
