Developer Fees

On January 24, 2024, the State Allocation Board met and approved an increase to the maximum Level 1 developer fees that school districts may charge pursuant to Education Code section 17620. On March 25, 2025, the PRJUSD Board of Trustees adopted and approved Resolution 25-19 to update statutory school fees imposed on new residential and commercial/ industrial construction.
Comencing June 1, 2025, the new fees imposed will be as follows:
 
 Current Fees
  • Residential Construction
    $5.17 per square foot of assessable space of new residential construction or additions of 500 square feet or more. No developer fees are due if the construction addition is 499 square feet or less

  • Commercial/Industrial Construction
    $0.84 per square foot of any amount of chargeable covered and enclosed space of commercial/ industrial construction

Annual & Five-Year Reports

Sections 66001 and 66006 of the Government Code require that Paso Robles Joint Unified School District ("School District") provide to the public information on impact fees received from new residential and commercial/industrial development to mitigate the impact of that new development on the school facilities of the School District.
