Public Hearing: Compliance with Education Code Section 60119 and CCR, Title 5, Section 9531 (C) Sufficiency of Instructional Materials Under Education Code Section 60119, the Governing Board of each school district receiving instructional materials funds is required to hold a public hearing on the sufficiency of textbooks and instructional materials. The public hearing must be held each fiscal year. Parents, teachers, community members, and bargaining unit leaders shall be encouraged to participate and shall make a determination as to whether each pupil in each school in the district has sufficient textbooks and instructional materials in each subject that are consistent with the content and cycles of the curriculum framework adopted by the state board.
