PRJUSD invites parents to attend a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten Parent Information Night on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Paso Robles High School Performing Arts Center, located at 801 Niblick Road.
The information night is designed for parents and guardians of children who will be entering TK or Kindergarten in the 2026–27 school year. District leaders and elementary school administrators will share information about program options, age eligibility, enrollment requirements, and what families can expect as their child begins school.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is available for children who will turn 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026, while Kindergarten is open to children who will turn 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026.
PRJUSD is proud to offer full-day Transitional Kindergarten at every elementary school site, ensuring consistent access to early learning opportunities across the district. TK classrooms maintain a 1:10 student-to-staff ratio, with a credentialed teacher and paraeducator supporting students in each classroom.
The event will help families understand the differences between TK and Kindergarten and determine the best placement for their child.
During the meeting, families will learn about:
- Developmentally appropriate learning experiences in TK and Kindergarten
- Classroom structure, daily routines, and student support systems
- Language programs and additional learning options
- After-school care opportunities
- How to prepare children for a successful transition into school
District staff will also outline the enrollment process and answer questions from families.
The district encourages families to attend the January 20 information night to ensure they have the information needed to complete enrollment confidently and on time.
TK & Kindergarten Enrollment for the 2026–27 school year will be open February 2 through February 20, 2026. Enrollment packets will be available beginning January 21, 2026, at pasoschools.org and at the District Office, located at 800 Niblick Road.
When submitting enrollment packets, families will need to provide:
- A copy of their child’s birth certificate
