PRHS SKILLS USA STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS

SkillsUSA California Leadership & Skills Conference
The 52nd Annual California Leadership & Skills Conference was April 25th - 28th in Ontario, CA. Paso Robles High School had 90 students compete in 34 contests. The results of the competition gave PRHS 11 Gold Medals, 8 Silver Medals and 9 Bronze Medals as individuals and teams.
The next step for the students who won Gold Medals is the National Leadership & Skills Conference in Louisville, KY, June 24 - 28. The students winning gold and moving to the National Conference include:
Hannah Lowry, Zoe Murphy and Maizie Ross - Career Pathway Showcase-Health Services
Audrey Hughes - Early Childhood Education (this category was swept by PRHS)
Nathan Castro - Electrical Construction Wiring
Mya Gonzalez - Job Interview
Kadan Gallant - Plumbing
Eli Lewis - Technical Computer Applications
Mason Brown - Telecommunications cabling (4th consecutive year)
Zac Alves - Welding (2nd Consecutive year)
Luke Bower, Ethan Breese, Triston Erickson - Welding Fabrication
We additionally received a Gold Medal in Middle School Job Demo A, by Skylar Collins.

Thirty-four students in teams and individual contestants received medals. Our school district and advisors are very proud of the hard work and hard thinking these students gave to their contests. The students prepared for these contests since the beginning of September. The training occurs in the Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway classes.
This is the 16th year PRHS has participated in SkillsUSA. Each of those years PRHS has sent students to the National Conference. PRHS has been a strong representative for SkillsUSA California. We are thankful for our continued support from our community and business partners who are willing to financially support their registration, travel, lodging and materials cost required for this conference and our Chapter. Students will be fundraising for the cost of this conference, please look to support our students and career technical education.
On May 21st, at 6:30pm, in the Culinary Arts Facility, SkillsUSA Chpt 211 will host a dinner for the sponsors and students medaling at the State Conference. The public is invited to attend this event. Dr. James Brescia, County Superintendent, will be the guest speaker. SkillsUSA medalists will proudly serve the dinner to our honored guests (SkillsUSA Chpt. 211 donors). Cost of the dinner is $20.00 per person, paid at the door.
