Changing out a battery is not difficult on most Mac systems but before replacing it, please read the following precaution.
CAUTION: Improper handling may result in shortened life or explosion of the battery. Electro-static discharge may damage sensitive logic board circuitry.- 1. Insure your power is turned off.
- 2. Attach grounding strap to metal case and to yourself.
- 3. Pry off the retainer and pull the battery out.
- 4. Reverse the procedure with the new battery making sure the " + " is positioned correctly.
- 5. Button up, restart your system, reset the date and time, and other control panel settings as needed.
