Standard 1.1 Use computers to communicate through printed media:

• Use a word processing application to create and edit a document. • Demonstrate ability to change fonts and spell check. • Create newsletters, banners, signs and/or calendars incorporating graphics and charts.

Student Information Sheet

Standard 1.12: Use computer apps to manage records.

nThis Means I Can…..
  • nOpen Excel and import a text file.
  • nFormat the data so that it is presentable and usable.
  • nAdd, subtract, multiply, divide in a spreadsheet with a running total in a simple budget
  • nCreate a roll sheet, seating chart, attendance sheet and make it web ready.
 

Powerpoint Presentation

n      Create slides that are consistent and creative.

n      Fonts and transitions are consistent.

n      Slides reflect planning/purpose for intended audience.

n      Text  is easy to read.

n      Pictures are appropriate and visually pleasing.

n      Backgrounds are subtle and appropriate.

n      Appropriate layout design theory is applied (eg. where pictures point/placement, color)

n      Project includes a minimum of 10 slides, but no more than 20.

n      Slides include pictures, digital pictures, clipart, moving image(s), video and/or original art.

n      Title slide has student name, presentation name.

n      Use all all aspects of Powerpoint (notes, transitions, (few) sounds, transition composition.)

  • Know and distinguish the differences among Literacy, Adapting, and Transformational technology uses in classrooms.
  • Recognize Literacy, Adapting, and Transformational when viewing a classroom lesson utilizing computers/technology.
  • Justify/describe why the classroom technology application fits into Literacy, Adapting, Transformational category(ies).
Classroom Organization & Lesson Assignment
This means I can…
  • Conceptualize how my classroom is arranged.
  • Conceptualize where my computers are located in the classroom*
  • Design a standards-based lesson
  • Utilize technology/computers/Internet to better teach, or for students to better learn, the standard(s) that I am trying to teach.
  • Produce requisite worksheets/handouts/methods for students to use during the lesson.
  • Assess when my students know/learned the standard that I am teaching.
  • Conceptualize/design a product that demonstrates that my students have achieved the standards/competency in meeting the standards.
  • Recognize/design a Literacy, Adapting, or Transformational lesson where students use the technology/computers in my classroom productively.
