Beginning Peer Course Overview

   Beginning Peer Communication I is designed to teach strategies that enhance positive attitudes about yourself and provide you with techniques that can be used to help other students build their interpersonal skills. Included in the training is the development of interpersonal communication, decision-making skills, and increased self-awareness.

   Beginning Peer Communication II is designed to apply the strategies and techniques acquired in the first semester. Specific topics will be addressed that are applicable to adolescent development and life stages. these topics may include: Family Roles, Alcohol and Drug Concerns, Anger Management, Conflict Resolution, Health and Sexual Concerns, Healthy Lifestyles, and Death and Dying. A mandatory requirement of this course will be thirty hours of Service Learning related to course topic(s).
