Sheridan Whiteside slips on the ice on has way into the home of
prominent Ohio family and must remain confined there in a wheel
chair for the holidays. Comedy mayhem ensues as he takes control
of the family’s lives, greets a parade Hollywood characters who
came to visit and turns Christmas celebration on its ear. One of
America’s great comedies come to life with romance, a shipment
of penguins, a convict chain gang, teenage rebellion, a living
room radio broadcast, an ax murderess, and a choir invading this
peaceful Midwest community
