 Our Leopard Student Gama

Places 2nd in the March Madness Chess Tournament

in San Luis Obispo!

On Saturday, March 22nd, the San Luis Obispo Chess Club hosted a tournament for kids at Pacheco Elementary School in San Luis Obispo.  About 33 students showed up to compete in two brackets.  Fifteen kids made up the unrated bracket in which Gama competed.  Gama won three of the five matches he played and tied one.  Gama only lost to the player who won the unrated bracket.  Gama finished the day tied for second place and went home with a trophy.  Gama had never played chess before this year.
