Dear Butler Families, 

       Welcome to the new year of 2009! I hope that Winter Break was enjoyable and offered the opportunity for each of you to enjoy some time with family and friends. The new year often is a time of reflection and the setting of new goals. This makes it the perfect time to reflect on the goals and successes of the past year for your child(ren). Recognizing success in goals is an important part of achieving them. Some successes may be improved study habits, Accelerated Reading goals met, improvement in a certain academic area, or perhaps the use of Peace Leader practices. Take the opportunity to recognize and celebrate achievements together.

          Recognizing student successes sets the stage for you, the parents and guardians, along with all of us at Pat Butler, to help our students understand that they can set and obtain their own goals. Take the time to discuss new goals your child(ren) might strive for that you can help them realize.  Once goals are set, take the time to periodically review progress in these areas and recognize them by celebrating them or reinforcing them in a positive manner.

            As parents and guardians we appreciate the effort you put into making each child’s education a positive experience. You are welcome and encouraged to volunteer, attend School Site Council, PTA, English Learner Advisory Committee and all school events. Be sure to check our bi-monthly Newsletter, The Bear Facts, for meeting dates and upcoming events.

            As we head into 2009 I wish you all good health, prosperity and happiness.

            Together we will work to realize the goals for each student as expressed in our district mission statement: “Every child by name and need, doing whatever it takes.”

Estimadas familias de Pat Butler, 

Bien venidos al nuevo año 2009! Espero que las vacaciones de invierno hayan sido agradables y que les ofrecieron tiempo para disfrutar con sus familias y amistades.El año nuevo usual mente es tiempo de reflectar y para poner nuevas metas.Esta es una oportunidad para repasar los éxitos que tuvieron sus niños el año pasado.Reconosiendo los éxitos es importante para poder seguir alcanzando nuevas metas.Algunos de estos éxitos pudieron ser mejora los hábitos para estudiar, realizar las metas de Lectura Acelerada, mejorar en ciertas áreas académicas, o quizás usar técnicas de Lideres de la Paz. Tomen el tiempo para reconocer y celebrar los logros de los estudiantes juntos con ellos.

Reconociendo los éxitos de los estudiantes les ofrece oportunidad para ustedes, los padres y encargados , y todos nosotros aquí en Pat Butler, para que puedan dar les entender a los niños que ellos pueden seguir adelante y realizar mas éxito por ellos mismos. Ayuden los escoger nuevas áreas donde mejorar. Ya que tengan nuevas metas, tomen el tiempo de repasar las periódica mente y sigan reconociendo los esfuerzos de los niños de manera positiva.

Les agradecemos los esfuerzos que han hecho para hacer la educación de cada niño una experiencia positiva. Los invitamos a que vengan a servir de voluntarios, que asisten a juntas del Comité del Concilio Escolar, juntas del PTA, juntas del Comité  de Advertencia par los Aprendedores de Ingles, y todos los eventos escolares. Asegúrense de leer la carta Bear Facts para toda lista de eventos.

Les deseo a todos buena salud, prosperidad, y alegría en el año nuevo.

Juntos podemos realizar las metas para cada estudiante como es expresado en la declaración del distrito: " Cada niño por nombre y necesidad, haciendo todo lo necesario."
